Windows 2008 OS is currently not fully supported by XEN which cause some startup issues for fix, however its very easy to fix them.

When you get a new Windows 2008 VPS or rebuild your VPS with Windows 2008 Operating System, you will see that during its first boot, it got stuck at startup and doesn't start. To fix this issue, follow these steps :

1) Download TightVNC Software from http://www.tightvnc.com/ so that you can connect to VNC.

2) Login to your Windows VPS Control Panel and Note the VNC Address there.

3) After noting down the VNC adress, Press the Restart Button present under "Power" Menu to reboot your VPS. It make take 1-2 minutes to successfully reboot the VPS for the first time.

4) Once its says "Successfully Updated ", Open TightVNC, put your VNC Address and press Enter.

It will ask for your VNC Password. Its same as your Windows VPS Control Password.

Once connected, please wait until you will see this screen :

Click on Next and It will ask you to Login. You need not to login. Just click on cancel and it will ask you to restart, Press YES.

Once you click on Yes, it will reboot your VPS and close your VNC connection.

5) Reconnect to VNC and you will see Windows is checking FileSystem.

Don't interfere with anything and let the windows do what it wants. Windows will complete disk checking within 2-3 minutes and reboot itself. VNC will be closed automatically.

6) Now, when you connect via VNC, you will see a screen saying "Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to log on".

Congratulations, your VPS is ready now to be used normally.

You can now use VNC to login or use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to your VPS IP Address.
