Two actors have been cast as the young prince: 16-year-old Rufus Kampa and 21-year-old Ed McVeigh. Meanwhile, Meg Bellamy will play Kate Middleton.

The fifth season of “The Crown” is set to hit screens in November. It will feature an all-new cast including Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Leslie Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles. Johnny Lee Miller will also appear as Prime Minister John Major.

Given Kate’s on-screen debut and the casting of 16-year-old Kampa as a younger version of William, all signs point to Season 6, which is set to begin production this fall, with a focus on the late 1990s and early 2000s. Prince William was 15 years old in August 1997, when his mother passed away.
It took a watering year before enrolling at St Andrew’s University in Scotland in 2001, where he met fellow student Kate. They lasted for 10 years now before finally tying the knot in 2011.
The 1990s and early 2000s continued to be a turbulent period for the royal family. The family’s popularity fell to its lowest levels after Diana’s death and was subjected to many scandals. Princes William and Harry were notorious for getting out of nightclubs in the early hours of the morning, often surrounded by glamorous blondes. Prince Andrew has been through the pain of his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and Allegedly abusing accused Virginia Jeffrey many times; Prince Charles was trying to rehabilitate his image as he incorporated his former lover, Camilla Parker-Bowles, into public life, and conspiracy theories raged about Diana’s death, with even a fringe maniac claiming Prince Philip was responsible.
There were also several legal entanglements after Diana’s death, including a high-profile criminal trial implicating her former butler, Paul Burrell, after he was arrested for allegedly stealing hundreds of the princess’s private items. The case was stopped at the last minute only after the Queen “remembered” that she had allowed him to take things after all. The recall process easily meant that the trial collapsed and members of the royal family avoided having to testify in front of what was sure to be a media circus.

Either way, there will be plenty of material for Kampa, McVeigh, and Bellamy to sink their teeth into.
Kampa has extensive experience in theatre, having played a major role in “Sue Townsend” The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole 13 & 3/4s “The Musical” in the West End as well as having roles in Waterloo East Theater and Wycombe Swan, among others. He is due to join Tring Park School of the Performing Arts - of which Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley and Dame Julie Andrews are among its alumni - in September.
McPhee graduated from the Drama Center in London last year after completing a four-year training programme. He has appeared on stage at The Old Vic and at Hammersmith Riverside Studios.
Bellamy is quite the newcomer, although she has made some amateur dramas and filmmaking, with the high-profile series marking her professional debut.
Kampa and Bellamy were selected after submitting the following test strips Casting call on social media. “The Crown” will see the trio make their professional screen debut.
It will also undoubtedly make the stars out of the three. Emma Corinne, who is then set to appear alongside Harry Styles in the upcoming movie “My Policeeman,” has been drawn into the public eye after she was plucked out of relative obscurity to play the young Princess Diana in season four. A bunch of on-screen credits to her name.
Similarly, Josh O’Connor, who played Prince Charles in seasons 3 and 4, became a household name and went on to win an Emmy for Leading Actor in a Drama Series for his performance.
The series changes its cast every two seasons to portray members of the royal family in different decades.
